Professor Geun-Ho Ryu Awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the National University of Mongolia

Professor Geun-Ho Ryu Awarded Honorary Doctorate by the National University of Mongolia Professor Geun-Ho Ryu of the Department of Software Engineering, College of Electrical and Information Engineering, has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the National University of Mongolia. Professor Ryu received the honorary degree in recognition of his significant contributions to the development of Mongolia’s IT industry and his efforts to strengthen academic collaboration with the National University of Mongolia. The award was presented during the 5th International Conference on FITAT 2012, held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, from August 8 to 10. At the same conference, two doctoral students from the Department of Computer Science, College of Electrical and Information Engineering, also received Best Paper Awards. Mr. Myung-Ho Park, a Ph.D. candidate, was honored for his paper titled “Extraction of Load Shape Factors Using Subspace Clustering Techniques,” while Mr. Yipapei received the award for his paper “Prediction of Hot Spots Based on Support Vector Machines (SVM).” The FITAT 2012 International Conference brought together approximately 100 professors, students, and researchers from eight countries. The conference featured 30 oral paper presentations and over 20 poster presentations, and provided an active forum for in-depth discussions and commentary among researchers in the field of computer science from both Korea and abroad.
